Assam Floods; Responding to SOS from Lalitimukh gaon, near Nimatighat, Jorhat.

Farm2Food Foundation have installed 80 Bamboo porcupine structures to arrest land erosion of about 10000 bigah land and 25 villages. GOONJ supported the material cost, whereas community members provided the labour. Porcupine structures are utilised because of their distinctive qualities, such as durability, chemical resistance, environmental friendliness, and ease of installation. Various construction materials are being employed for flood-control structural solutions.

These structures may be seen along the toe line and can also be used to slow down the flow in order to cause siltation and examine the toe-line for scouring.
